ThinPrep liquid cytology: Collect cervical specimens in ThinPrep Pap Test vial containing PreservCyt Solution with broom-type or cytobrush/spatula collection devices according to the manufacturer's instructions.

NOTE:  Specimens sent for Cervical Cancer screening with Pap tests will be automatically reflexed for HPV testing according to Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Cervical Cancer Screening guidelines.

NOTE:  This test detects 14 HPV genotypes which are considered high risk for cervical cancer, including: 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 52, 56, 58, 59, 66, and 68. 
It does not detect all HPV genotypes associated with other clinical manifestations (e.g. genital or cutaneous warts).
Packaging and shipping must be in accordance with Transport Canada Regulations.
